Relationship Between Plasma Glucose and HbA1c
HbA1c test conversion to eAG and MPG can help you:
- Confirm self-testing results or blood test results by the doctor
- Judge whether a treatment plan is working
- Show you how healthy choices can make a difference in diabetes control.
After you receive your lab blood test results stating your A1C you can use this form to determine what that is in relationship to the average glucose reading you see on your blood glucose meter.
Always consult your medical team before making any changes based on any test result as different labs can test differently and give vary different results. Using the MPG and HbA1c in 1,439 patients has produced a relationship of mean plasma glucose (MPG) as follows:
- average mmol/l = (1.593 x HbA1c) - 2.58 or
- average mg/dl = (28.68 x HbA1c) - 46.43
- mean mmol/l = (1.98 x HbA1c) - 4.29 or
- mean mg/dl = (35.60 x HbA1c) - 77.30
